Why do more and more clients tend to choose "four-way intensive storage system" instead of "stacker crane storage system"? The four-way intensive storage system is mainly composed of rack system, conveyor system, four-way shuttle, electrical control system, WCS scheduling system and WMS management system. Compared with traditional stacker crane storage, four-way intensive storage has its inherent advantages. It is mainly manifested in the following aspects.
1.In cost aspect, the cost of four-way intensive storage is much lower than stacker crane storage when in the same requirements of efficiency and storage capacity. The cost of four-way intensive storage mainly lies in rack and the average cost of singe pallet location is lower.
2.In the storage capacity aspect, four-way intensive storage has a large storage capacity, storage channel can be up to dozens of depths, and space utilization is very high. However, Stacker crane can only realize the double-deck at most, the storage capacity is limited, and storage capacity is improved by adding channels of stacker crane.
3.In the efficiency aspect, the efficiency of four-way intensive storage mainly lies in four-way shuttles, elevators and scheduling system, and the efficiency is flexible. The efficiency can be improved by adding four-way shuttles. When compared with stacker crane storage, the efficiency is a little bit lower. However, the total efficiency of four-way intensive storage will surpass stacker crane storage with the technological improvement of four-way shuttles and elevators. In contrast, stacker crane storage improves efficiency by adding more stacker cranes. The more stacker cranes, the higher the efficiency. Meanwhile, the cost is higher.
4.In supported goods variety aspect, four-way intensive storage can realize not only storage of single variety but also storage of multiple varieties, which mainly relies on the design of main and secondary tracks distribution. While stacker crane storage directly stores and takes from pallet location, suitable for storage of multiple varieties.
5.In application site aspect, for many varieties, at the same time requirements of the inbound and outbound efficiency are very high, goods are short, the warehouse is more than 24 meters, and the overweight more than 3T is recommended to use stacker crane storage; otherwise, four-way intensive storage can satisfy not only the single variety but also multiple varieties and have a large applications ranges.
In addition, the whole channel cannot work when a stacker crane is breakdown; any pallet location will not be effected when a four-way shuttle is breakdown.
